British Coach Tours

How can I find out about coach tours that run from Washington DC to other parts of America .I am based in UK?

  1. I suggest you rent a car. The US is a HUGE country and much better seen in your own time, not in the time of a coach tour. Secondly, coaches in the united states tend to be filled with poor people, drug addicts and homeless folk. It is the cheapest way to travel and therefore attracts unsavouries. Drive yourself!
  2. Not so sure about coach TOURS, but check out greyhound buses and you'll find what routes they have & where you can go. Yes it is the cheap way to travel but, for shortish distances, it's just as good as flying as you don't have to get out to the airport, check in 2 hours before etc etc. I can tell you that you'll be able to get to New York (I think the trip was about 4 hours) as I visited Washington DC whilst I was working in NYC for a short time. I also took the greyhound bus up to Boston and don't recall being surrounded by down & outs or drug addicts on either trip (there or back). For longer journeys, you may also want to check AMTRAC. Although the trains are even less frequent than those in the UK and are just as expensive, they offer you a comfortable journey whilst still allowing you to watch the world go by.
